EPI-USE Assists P&G With ImplementATion of SAP® Payroll in Latin America
Proctor and Gamble (P&G) is a long time SAP customer. Most global locations were running SAP Payroll, however, it desired to implement SAP Payroll in its Latin America (LA) environments following P&G SAP standards, train payroll operations teams on the new solution and establish on-going SAP production support for affected countries. These locations had outsourced payroll on a legacy system, LAPBS technology, that was unsupported. Due to the size of the locations, P&G was concerned about minimizing costs associated with large implementations.
The EPI-USE Approach:
The EPI-USE team implemented a Wave Approach consisting of 2 waves over a 15 months period, with a Wave 1 go-live date on January 1, 2010 and projected Wave 2 go-live date on August 1, 2010. Wave 1 included Panama, Venezuela and Argentina, while Wave 2 includes Peru, Chile, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Colombia. Panama will be the only Wave 1 country requiring development of a country solution.
Key business principles that have been integral in the successful Wave 1 implementations include:
- Strong executive sponsorship support and involvement
- EPI-USE’s ability to quickly adapt business processes
- P&G’s familiarity with SAP
- Commitment to providing the project resources needed from P&G and EPI-USE
- Complementary organizational focus on quality and overall commitment to the team approach
EPI-USE’s global expertise, knowledge of local market needs and the breadth of resources continue to help ensure this expansive Payroll Implementation for Latin America is completed on time and on budget.
